Industry Focus | The 4th Changsha International Construction Equipment Exhibition Opens in Grand Style

At 9:40 a.m. on May 15, 2025, the 4th Changsha International Construction Equipment Exhibition (CICEE) officially opened at the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center.

This year’s exhibition covers an area of 300,000 square meters and brings together 1,806 exhibitors from around the globe, showcasing the latest technologies and products in the field of construction machinery. Over 1,000 industry leaders, academicians, corporate representatives, and international buyers gathered to witness this annual flagship event in the international construction machinery industry.

Shen Xiaoming, Secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, attended and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, which was hosted by Wu Guiying, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee.

Distinguished guests included officials from relevant national ministries and commissions, provincial leaders of Hunan, diplomats from 55 countries, representatives of 5 international organizations, heads of 45 domestic and international trade associations, 150 executives from leading industry enterprises, over 700 international buyers, and more than 100 journalists from domestic and international media outlets.

Prominent figures such as Xu Niansha, President of the China Machinery Industry Federation; Takashi Mori, Chief Representative of Hitachi Construction Machinery in China; Martin Mpana, Ambassador of the Republic of Cameroon to China; Zhou Kaiquan, Vice President of SINOMACH; and Wu Hanming, Vice President of China Aneng Group, delivered speeches that injected strong momentum into the opening of the exhibition.

The number of international guests attending this year’s CICEE is expected to exceed 5,000. Diplomats from 50 African countries and representatives from the African Union attended the opening ceremony and participated in guided tours and major events. China-Africa cooperation became a key highlight of the exhibition.

Commercial counselors from countries such as Turkey, Bangladesh, and Nepal; representatives of international organizations, including the United Nations Development Programme and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization; and leaders from 45 global trade associations from regions such as Europe, the Middle East, India, Latin America, Russia, and Southeast Asia, along with nearly 800 international guests, participated in the industry conference, technology release sessions, and other key activities.

Throughout the exhibition period, multiple international business matchmaking events will be held, attracting 760 international buyers from over 20 countries, covering sectors such as next-generation construction machinery, emergency equipment, mining machinery, agricultural equipment, and transportation equipment.

As a global barometer of the construction equipment industry, this year’s CICEE centers on the theme of "High-end, Intelligent, and Green" development. Over 20,000 products and more than 1,000 sets of advanced equipment are on display, including new energy machines and autonomous operation technologies, with the release of 1,500 new products and technologies.

The exhibition strategically introduced three new sectors: emergency rescue equipment, mining equipment, and transportation equipment, forming a complete ecological display loop covering infrastructure construction, resource extraction, disaster response, and logistics transport, and achieving full industry chain coverage for construction machinery.

The opening ceremony attracted widespread media coverage, with more than 40 mainstream domestic media outlets, including Xinhua News Agency, People’s Daily, China Media Group, and Hunan TV, as well as over 60 specialized media from home and abroad, such as Construction Machinery & Technology (Russia), NBM Media (India), Intercontinental Mining, HC360, Iron Armor Machinery, and Global Construction Machinery Network. The event’s highlights are being broadcast globally through multi-channel media platforms.

The 4th Changsha International Construction Equipment Exhibition will run through May 18, during which over 100 activities, including industry forums, technical exchanges, and business negotiations, will be held. The event aims to build an open, shared, and mutually beneficial platform for the global construction machinery industry and to further elevate "Made in China" onto the world stage.
